Why we love the iconic Ibiza sunsets so much

There’s so many special magical about this magnificent little island.

But one thing that never ages, and will always be as memorable as the first time we’ve witnessed it, are of course the famous sunsets.

It’s a feeling like no other. Whether experienced with the sound of silence, apart from the lapping sea. Or accompanied by those unmistakable Balearic sounds in the background.

There’s just something about it that gives us all the feels.

It’s an image that not only stays in our minds, but also in our hearts too.

An image that has been used over time, as inspiration for industries throughout the world.

From music producers for their album releases to clothing,  jewellery to real estate.

It’s also used as the backdrop for numerous island-based events.

From beach parties to marriage proposals, weddings to fashion shoots.

Natural and authentic, something that will never change, on the ever evolving island of Ibiza.

Wherever you go in the world, there’s nowhere quite as memorable to witness the it from.

One of the most well-known sunset celebrations was the Sunday drumming at Benirras. A gathering of hippies and free-thinkers who played in unison together, whilst the golden glow of the evening sky faded into twinkling darkness.

A gathering which started back in 1991, to peacefully protest against the Gulf War. It became known as The Day of The Drums. Which soon drew crowds from all over the globe to either partake, or watch and listen to true hedonism come to life.

It was an event that has since been stopped on Sundays due to large crowds, however you can still visit and watch the drummers on other days of the week.

A magical feeling in a remarkable setting.

It’s not just the look of a sunset that makes us feel good either. The colours it produces can help to regulate your body clock, known as your circadian rhythm. Often leaving you feeling at ease, and can boost your mood for the better.

It’s also a realisation. A brief moment of humbling ambience, and a time where you can reflect on the day, and life in general.
