With more than 80 beaches around Ibizas coastline, you’re never too far away from the waters edge.
There’s no better pick-me-up than a good dose of Vitamin Sea, so here’s our top pick of beaches to visit whilst you are here.
From lively party-spots to more secluded and relaxed locations, places you can unwind, switch off or dance the day away with your favourite people.
Benirrás
Situated on the northwest coast, Cala Benirras is one for those who love the laid-back, hippie side of life. It’s a great spot to relax during the day, and maybe have a browse around the artisan stalls selling local clothing and jewellery. By night you can listen to the sounds of the drummers at sunset, all in harmony, playing to the crowd of (normally) hundreds of spectators. There’s also a number of lovely restaurants you can pop into if you’re feeling peckish, or need a break from the sun.
Figueretes
Only a ten minute walk into Ibiza Town, Figueretes feels a far cry from the ‘busy’ streets not too far away. You’ll find the locals love it here. From early morning dips, to a long row of restaurants and bars along the promenade to keep you busy. It’s somewhere to come if you want to catch those rays and watch the world go by, before cooling off in the sea for a while. If you’re into your shopping, then you haven’t got far to go for the likes of Zara and co either afterwards.
Cala d’Hort
Whilst it doesn’t have the sandiest of beaches, it does provide one of the most beautiful (and famous) backdrops in the world. Located just 26 minutes away from San Antonio and Ibiza Town, Cala d’Hort is by far of the the most visited places in Ibiza. With sparkling blue waters, authentic, fresh-fish restaurants and of course, the enchanting Es Vedra rock, it’s a must-visit for a beach day. A fantastic spot to wind-down and take in your surroundings. Simply find your way to paradise here.
Platja d’en Bossa
If you’re an ‘all or nothing’ kind of person then get yourself over to Platja d’en Bossa, where you’ll be drawn in by all the exciting goings on along the islands longest stretch of beach. From a vast selection of bars and restaurants, you won’t be short on entertainment once you’re there. It’s easy to find quieter parts, as it’s such a large space, but it’s also the go-to spot for a lively day out too. If you’re not a fan getting covered in sand then you could always book a day bed at one of the many beach-clubs, including Tanit or Nassau.
Cala Xarraca
Whilst still popular, this beach is definitely more off the beaten track. Nestled away in the municipality of Sant Joan de Labritja (also known as San Juan), Xarraca is another one that’s a bit stoney, however it’s a good one for the list. If you can’t sit still for too long then you can always wander off along the cliffs to explore the coves, and look at the fishes dotting around everywhere. You’ll also find the ‘famous’ swing in the lagoon that’s been featured in a number of articles, and is a popular photo opportunity for your social media posts.
Here’s how to get here.
Ses Illetes
Not quite Ibiza but well worth the 30 minute trip from Ibiza, your journey will take you to the idyllic island of Formentera, and more importantly, Ses Illetes Beach. Declared one of the most beautiful beaches in the world (and compared to the Caribbean), this breathtaking little part of the Balearics is somewhere you’ll always remember for its turquoise, clear waters and white sandy shores. It’s a truly stunning spot, and has much more laid-back authentic vibe about it. You can catch the ferry to Formentera from the port in Ibiza Town, 7 days a week.
