The 21st edition of the DJ Awards was definitely one to remember, with its first-ever appearance at Heart Ibiza – a venue that fuses art, music and gastronomy – and with new sponsor Grey Goose. The ceremony was dedicated to the Disco era and the glitter balls were out in force with as were the DJ’s and the entire electronic music industry!
In total 27 awards were given to the best DJs and producers in the industry, celebrating category awards that were voted for by the music fans, plus the special industry award, chosen by a panel of music professionals.
In attendance at this year’s awards were some of electronic music´s biggest names, including King of Techno Carl Cox, who won the prestigious International DJ award, Grammy nominated Camelphat and underground maestros Jamie Jones and Joseph Capriati.
Providing the music elite with entertainment for the night was Barbara Tucker, who is celebrating 30 decades in the industry, and got guests onto their feet with a rendition of one of Disco music’s anthems “MacArthur Park”.
Safe to say, a great night was had by all.
