In review: VIVa Warriors get rebellious at sea

It would be no trip to Ibiza without setting sail and dancing out in the middle of the crystal clear turquoise waters of the Mediterranean, but how do you decide what boat party to go on? You could go on a booze cruise on an old style ferry boat, with cheap unlimited drinks served from dust bins and a sound system as good as your car stereo like 90 per cent of people, or you could rebel against the status quo and party on a luxury all white catamaran, with a selection of drinks, a killer sound system, VIP area, free entrance to VIVa Warriors every Sunday and a Thank God We Are Rebels tattoo that luckily can be removed when you get home!

I dared to be different and release my inner rebel last Sunday for the VIVa Warriors boat party hosted by Thank God We Are Rebels. At 4pm, 150 eager partiers gathered at Tantra Bar in Playa D’en Bossa ready to party. I looked around to see if I could spot any cute boys, there were quite a few, but just as many gorgeous girls to compete with. In fact, there was a perfect guy to girl ratio with people from all over the world. Directly out the front a bus arrived to take us to Marina Botofoch where the boat departs from.

After a suspenseful bus ride we arrived and I could already see the catamaran. It was all white with a large dancefloor and I could see a host waiting to present us with a glass of cava. It was time to set sail for 5 hours of dancing, swimming, sun baking and drinking. It was a really hot day but as soon as the boat began to move, the breeze was absolutely perfect! The music was already pumping and Marc Anthony was getting us in the mood with some underground deep tech, warming us up for Miguel Campbell’s 4 hour set.

The first hour of the party had a one hour open bar. I decided to take advantage of this as much as I could. What I absolutely loved is how much the Rebels care about Ibiza and the environment. They tell everyone to reuse their cup and they are biodegradable plastic. The bar staff were really friendly and behind them was a huge rebel’s banner saying we love you. I really did feel the love with the drink prices after the open bar being more than affordable.

Miguel Campbell was up and ready to give 150 lucky passengers an exclusive show. It’s not often that an opportunity to see such a talented DJ comes about, which is no surprise why the boat sold out so quickly. The dance floor both behind and in front of the DJ was packed full of beautiful people, dancing without a care in the world.

It was time for a swim stop in the crystal clear water at a secret hidden coast. Everyone head to the back of the boat and jumped in. People were doing flips, jumped off all holding hands and one guy even tried to get his kit off! In the distance you could see the tip of the magical Es Vedra; it was picturesque. After burning off some energy it was time to set sail again and enjoy some complimentary canapés with yummy fresh fruit and baguettes. We were heading closer and closer to Es Vedra and the sky was turning from blue to beautiful pinks and oranges. Many couples and newly found romances held hands and enjoyed the spectacular sites.

By now the hosts were pouring shots in everyone’s mouths, with Thank God We are Rebels tattoos and VIVa Warriors stickers going on every arm, bootie and boobie. The photographer was there to capture all the moments to show the rebellious actions taking place. The highlight for me however, was when Miguel dropped his classic and one of my all-time favourites “Something Special”. The sky was now black and the stars were shining. We started to make our way back into Ibiza Town and could see the castle Dalt Vila all illuminated; it was out of this world!

Once a rebel, always a rebel and to prove I was in fact one of the rebels, I needed something to remember such a great day, so I purchased one of the tops for sale. They are a great design, I bought mine long enough to be able to wear it as a dress. They also have custom unique graffiti style denim jackets, shorts, fans and cushions available at Sankeys on the roof top every Sunday.

There really were no limits of this party. It was an unforgettable experience I will never forget! You too can join the party every Tuesday and Friday as well as limited special VIVa Warriors boats on a few select Sundays.  The after party continued at Sankeys where the Rebels host the Spektrum every Sunday. Detlef, Steve Lawler and Miguel Campbell all smashed it as well as the Rebels residents!
