Things to do on Ibiza for Families – 2023

Ibiza is a playground for adults looking to escape their 9-5, and escape for a break in the Balearic sunshine.

But what about kids?

We’ve heard it all. “Ibiza isn’t a place for children”, “there’s nothing for them to do there”.

The list goes on, but that couldn’t be further from the truth.

In fact, the island is a place that thousands of families love to visit each summer. All seeking a well deserved rest, and looking to spend some quality time together.

There’s actually quite a bit they can can get up to here. All of which parents can enjoy too!

Here’s our top picks:

Bowling

In Playa d’en Bossa you’ll find Friends Kitchen. The place to head if you fancy showing off your king-pin skills. It’s family-friendly and offers fun throughout the day and into the night. They also have a range of tasty dishes on their menu includes burgers, which are actually very good!

Friend’s is located directly behind the longest stretch of sand on the island. Perfect if you want to walk off those calories afterwards and let the world know you won at bowling!

Water fun

If your kids are a fan of the sea, then there’s plenty of options available.

From kayaking to doughnut rings, jet skiing to scuba diving and snorkelling.

Ibiza is packed with different activities to enjoy on the water, for all ages.

There’s also group and private boat trips available around Ibiza and Formentera.

They all include your captain, drinks, taxes, snorkelling equipment and more!

Mini Golf

A past-time for generations looking for a relatively cheap day out.

The longest-running, family-owned spot is located in San Antonio Bay.

Royal Park is just along the main road as you come into the curve part of the bay. Offering pocket-friendly enjoyment for both adults and children.

They also serve a good selection of food and drinks.

It’s a great place to spend the afternoon, and there’s also a pond full of beautiful fish to admire. Something else to keep the little ones entertained.

Sling Shot

Opening in 1997, the famous Sling Shot has been a landmark for those visiting San Antonio for many years.

It can be seen from miles around, considering it’s 48m tall and gathers a maximum height of 72 meters, when it’s in action!

It was updated in 2002 with a spring machine, making it an even bigger thrill seeking activity for adrenaline junkies.

Minimum height limit is 1.5m.

Once you’ve composed yourself after briefly seeing into outer space, you can jump on something a little less ‘roof raising’.

Just across from the Sling Shot you also have bumper cars, and a ‘jumpin’ frog‘ fairground ride too. An hour or so of fun to keep the family happy.

Bam-Bu-Ku

Another one for San Antonio.

Highly popular with families looking for a relaxing day out, whilst the kids enjoy themselves safely.

Bam-Bu-Ku has a range of activities for your mini-me’s to relish in.

From their Flowrider surf machine to face paining, live music, kids entertainers, swimming pools and much more.

On the weekends you can experience Fam-Bu-Ku, an exciting day full of music, food and fun. Rent a day bed around the pool area and relax with a cocktail in hand.

Well worth it!

Cap Blanc Aquarium

In 1989 this aquarium was opened to the public, and has been popular with thousands of visitors for over 3 decades since.

The natural caves are home to a wide range of marine species. And offer an informative look at the islands sea life from a closer point of view.

Available for all ages, it’s a great place to add to your itinerary for your holiday here.

You can find them in Cala Gracio, just a short stroll from San Antonio town, and easily accessible by car.

You can also get the L1 bus from San Antonio bus station to Cala Gracio (ask for stop Stella Maris), if you want to save the walk.

Sirenis Water Park

Port d’es Torrent is where you’ll find the only water park on the island. Situated within the Seaview Hotel, it’s a fun day for all the family. Offering water slides aplenty, and a chance to enjoy the beautiful sunshine whilst the kids splash about.

Can Marçà

San Miguel is one of the most beautiful parts of the island.

With a wide, open beach surrounded by natural forests, it’s the perfect place for families to enjoy a laid-back holiday in peace.

One of the main attractions are the Can Marçà caves.

Once home to smugglers, and used as a hideaway to store their ‘acquired finds’.

Nowadays it’s open to the public to explore. The 100, 000 year-old cave is an excellent place to visit if you’re into your history. Plus you’ll no doubt hear some interesting myths and legends on the island from the tour guide too!

Can Marçà can be found by simply taking a right as you come into San Miguel, and then following the road signs.

Go Karting

Who doesn’t love whizzing around a track pretending to be Lewis Hamilton? We know we do!

Another one for a great day out is Ibiza Karting in San Antonio.

Not the cheapest of things to do, but definitely worth the money. Adults and kids can ride around in their own karts (not at the same time), or there are tandem ones available, where you can safely go round the track together with your child. There’s a snack and drinks bar available, plus benches for you to sit on whilst you wait for your turn.
