Fantastic Reasons to visit Ibiza this September

September is one of our favourite times on the island.

The brief, recent ‘bad’ weather has brought a much welcomed relief for many. As it’s refreshed the air, making it a lot more bearable, whilst still staying beautiful warm.

It’s a great time to explore without melting in the process, with a cooler breeze and even better sunsets.

If you’re looking to head over this month, then here’s some suggestions of things you can do to make the most of your time here.

Dalt Vila

The old town of Ibiza has a wonderful history, a lot of which can still be seen today.

Head up to the top, where you can wander around the Santa María Cathedral. With stunning panoramic views over the castle walls, you can also take some amazing photos too. The winding cobbled streets offer a little step back in time, with its pretty stone architecture buildings. Many of which still house residents, who’s properties have been in their family for generations.

You can also enjoy a drink and some lunch (or dinner) in one of the various restaurants and bars within its proximity. Along with bagging yourself some beautiful, artisan items from the local boutiques and gift shops. If you’d like an extra insight into the past, then you can visit the Archaeological Museum too. Easily situated just a short stroll from the bottom of Dalt Vila.

Time and Space

This man-made design sits perfectly on the cliff-edge, above the peaceful cove of Calla Llentia, on the south-west coast of the island. Time and Space is dubbed Ibiza’s Stonehenge and is a popular spot for yoga teachers and sound healers. Due to its otherworldly ambience, and breathtaking scenery.

Sculptor Andrew Rogers put his vision to life in 2014.

The 420 tons of basalt imported from Turkey was then created into 13 columns. These columns are set out to represent the solar system, with the tallest standing 10 meters in height and topped in 23 carat gold. Just a short stroll from this magnificent artwork you’ll also find ‘The doors to Es Vedra‘. Another part of Andrew’s design, and a great photo opportunity. With a direct look towards the third most magnetic place on earth.

The Beaches

We’re not talking Cala Conta or the other busy, summer tourist spots. We’re talking the ‘secret’, secluded parts of the island that are perfect to visit in September. You won’t be fighting for a place on the sand, nor will you be scrambling for shade. The quieter, more hidden locations are amazing at this time of year.

We’ve got lots of suggestions, but then we wouldn’t want them to get overcrowded.

Simply pick a little place on google maps, and head off with your towel and cool box!

The less ‘off the beaten track’ the better your chances of having much of the area to yourself.

Private Boat Charter

Book a private boat charter this month and experience the beautiful coastline of Ibiza and Formentera in style.

The water is still warm enough to enjoy, and with snorkelling equipment and paddle boards included, you’ll have tons of fun in the sun for the same price!

You can even stop off at a beachside restaurant for lunch on a full day trip, or even watch the sun setting, over a chilled glass of bubbly in the evening.

The Clubs

There’s no doubt that September is one of the best times to visit Ibiza, because of the famous closing parties.

It’s full steam ahead from now, and there’s a plethora of outstanding events to choose from.

We can’t decide which ones you should attend, because they’re all as equally as good, but you can get all your club tickets on our website!

Explore

Get some sturdy footwear, a big bottle of water and head off on an adventure along the rocky cliffs.

Wander through the pine-cladded forests, and have a pit-stop at the top whilst looking out to sea.

There’s so many wonderful places to explore here, without having to spend a cent.

Yoga

With the calming of the seasons comes a clearer mindset. And one way to make the most of it, and renew your energy is by booking a yoga class.

Whether you’d like to join in on a group beach session, or book a 1-2-1 private class, Jennuine Fitness is an excellent choice.

Jen is also an experienced personal trainer and swimming teacher, in case you fancied some extra fitness options whilst you are here.

The Restaurants

Lazy days stuffing your face with all the goodness of the Mediterranean and beyond.

Sounds perfect doesn’t it?

With an abundance of wonderful restaurants on the island, you’re sure to find somewhere memorable to sit and graze.

From authentic Ibicenco fare to Middle Eastern or Asian.

The island has it all.

Four places we recommend checking out this month are Raco in San Rafael, The Boat House in Cala Sant Vicent, Zuma in Marina Botafoch and The Maine in Salinas.
