Everyone has to see Solomun at Destino and here’s why…

Destino is arguably one of the plushest venues’ the White Isle has to offer, owned by clubbing titans Pacha, the resort not only offers a five star hotel, restaurant and spa but an impressive outdoor concert venue bringing in some of the biggest artists in electronic music,

One of these big named artists is Solomun, who revealed six exclusive dates at Destino this summer with his party Solomun + live – featuring a special guest to perform live at each date before the main man himself performed.

Destino, being one of the newbies to the party scene of the white isle, having been open for just two years, may not automatically be added everyone’s holiday clubbing calendar like Space or Amnesia is, but this is one clubbing venue that people need to take note of. The lush surroundings, cool crowd and impressive sound systems means Destino is well and truly armed to give you a great night of dancing and fun.

Since starting his career in 2002, Solomun has gone from strength to strength and with bagging not one but two huge residences at iconic venues on the island this year, proves that this DJ is a serious contender. He has enjoyed a very successful residency at super club Pacha since 2013 – his no frills production only adds to the seriousness this DJ feels for the music. Winner (more than once) at the prestigious DJ awards is just another nod to the many accolades Solomun owns.

Now with an exciting rest of the season at Destino we can’t wait to get along to see the DJ in action again. We went along to the opening party of Solomun plus live at Destino a little while back joined by none other than Paul Kalkbrenner.

The party was well and truly full with the real party people amongst the action in the middle of the dance floor whilst those who were happy enough sipping cocktails enjoyed the music from the perimeter of the action.

Paul Kalkbrenner graced the decks and played . It wouldn’t be a true Kalkbrenner performance without the tune that absolutely everyone knows and loves. Whilst the sun was setting, the crowd threw their arms up in unison with eurphoria when he dropped Sky and Sand moving along to the classic summer anthem. When the sun is setting and you’re dancing in Ibiza with your best mates, you can’t help but feel slightly moved and emotional when this tune comes on. What more do you want at that very precise moment in life?

When it was time for Solomun to hit the decks, the crowd were well on their way and after applauding Kalbrenner it was time for the main man to get in to action and thrash out the beats we’d been waiting for in true Solomun style.

The adoring crowd was lapping up track after track and the atmosphere within the arena was electric and as the sun has gone down and day was turning into night Solomun’s beats got darker and dirtier with a track selection that was getting us well and truly in the groove.

Hitting the crowd with tracks like Sick Dancer and rounding off towards the end with Music Is The Answer (Dancin and Prancing), Solomun had the crowd hanging on to every beat.

Thursday 20 August sees Brandt Bauer Frick  play alongside Solomun and then on the 10th September Solomun + Live with WhoMadeWho  then rounding off the residency on the 24th September Solomun + Live with Rodriguez JR.
