AUTUMN AND WINTER ON IBIZA – THINGS TO DO

There’s something special about autumn and winter on Ibiza.

Those specific seasons bring a certain magic to the air, on which is completely different to the magic of summer.

It’s so different, and oh so special.

We know that come the end of September direct flights from the UK are limited to City Airport in London.

But if you’re travelling from anywhere else in the world (or don’t mind two flights), then you can easily travel from a range of destinations.

You can still party out of a typical summer season here too.

Whilst the main clubs may be closing (or closed), that doesn’t mean us locals hang up our dancing shoes until May.

Far from it.

There’s still plenty of fantastic smaller parties that pop up across the island.

Whether you’re here to dance or relax, there’s definitely something to keep you fulfilled during your stay.

Here’s some of our favourite things to do over the cooler months on the white isle.

Explore

Ibiza is beautiful. There’s no doubt about that. Even when you fly over the pine-cladded mountains, surrounded by turquoise waters, you know you are looking at at a little slice of heaven.

Being on the land is something quite unique.

And getting out and about is a must at that time of year.

From hiking in the hills overlooking sights such as Es Vedra and Es cap Bernat.

To venturing out to places such as Salinas salt-flats to watch the flamingos ‘doing their thing’.

Or even capturing those dramatic sunset afterglows.

With sunny days and colder nights, it’s the perfect mix if you want to enjoy some rays. But still feel cosy in the evenings.

Hire a car or moped and get out and about. With some hidden treasures to be found around many corner, you won’t regret it.

Shop

Yes you can shop anywhere, but Ibiza is home to some truly wonderful boutiques.

Unfortunately many of these close after the summer season ends, but you can still find some pretty fabulous spots to take advantage of the trusty credit card.

If you’re into your high-street haunts then you’ll be able to find the likes of Zara, Mango, Bershka and many more. Along with a selection of other great go-to retail therapy businesses, located in Vara de Rey.

Grab some beautiful cushions or candles in Zara Home, or maybe treat yourself to a new fragrance at Clapés.

Ibiza Town pretty much has it all, but if you fancy venturing further afield then one place we highly recommend is Sluiz.

The Santa Gertrudis fashion, home and accessory store has recently moved down the road, and is ‘another world‘ for eccentric shopping.

Think weird, whacky and wonderful. Plus some really beautiful items that you won’t find anywhere else on the island.

Or, if you’re after some bargain hunting then San Jordi market is the place to be on a Saturday.

Dance

You can dance the night away, 357 days a year here on Ibiza. Whether it be in a bar or a outdoor event.

You’ll never be bored, so don’t let anyone tell you any different.

From nights in Dalt Vila at bars such as Lola’s and Paradise Lost, to daytime shindigs at Las Dalias.

There’s something for everyone, including families.

Some of the larger clubs also host special events over this time too.

From Chinois in Botafoch to Eden in San Antonio.

If you’re thinking about flying over for New Year, then Pacha, Lío, DC10 and plenty of other famous venues re-open for the occasion.

You just need to keep an eye on all of their socials for updates.

Lola’s

Eat

If you’re a foodie then you’re in the right place. From Traditional Ibicenco cuisine to SpanishVietnamese, Italian, French, Caribbean and more.

Your options might be slightly reduced compared to the peak-season, but they’re still in abundance.

Some of the best places to dine are towns such as Santa Eulalia, which is home to ‘restaurant street‘. A place that leaves you spoilt for choice, and your tastebuds tingling.

San Antonio is also a stellar choice.

With eateries such as Es Ventall, Es Nautic, VeneziaGolden Buddha providing many tasty offerings to keep your tastebuds satisfied.

And that’s not all, as there’s many more restaurants dotted across the island to tickle for your fancy.

From The Boathouse in Cala San Vicente, Amalur in Santa Gertrudis, Chimichurri in San José and Côtô in San Rafael.

And that’s just to name a few.

Es Nautic

Create

Are you the creative type? If that’s a yes then you’ve struck gold here.

As Ibiza is known for its freedom to ‘look beyond’ the norm.

Whether you’re a musician, artist or designer. The island is a place you can be yourself, and it inspires you to develop your flair to a whole new level.

From pottery and ceramic classes to paintingIbiza-focused designs and silversmith courses to open mic nights.

You can even join in with the drumming at places such as Benirrás. A true chance to channel your inner hippy.

Enjoy the Sea

Brave enough to dip in a cold Mediterranean sea? Then why not. As it’s known to be extremely good for your health.

If you prefer to stay dry whilst still enjoying the beautiful blue, peaceful waters, then you can still participate a range of activities throughout the year.

From paddle boarding to kayaking, sailing and scuba diving. To private boat trips with your own captain included.

It’s a great way to experience the breathtaking coastline, and really feel in-tune with your surroundings.

ARC Ibiza

Sound healing, pilates, cacao ceremonies, ayahuasca, the list is endless.

From retreats to one-off special events.

This beautiful rock is the place to visit, if you want the ultimate in rest, relaxation, and rebirth.

With is stunning scenery and tranquil ambience, taking some well deserved ‘me time’ is vital. And there’s no better place to participate in said-activities, than right here on Ibiza.
