Las Dalias Ibiza – A Must Visit

Once a road side bar with a dance floor, serving cheap drinks and food in the sunshine.

Las Dalias has come a long way since opening in the early 50’s.

From its heyday, owner Joan Marí provided locals with a well needed beverage, snacks and somewhere to enjoy local music.

A place previously used to host special occasions such as weddings, birthdays and religious festivities.

Las Dalias was a haven for free-spirited adults and children as time went on, all in search of the authentic feel that gives the island its unmistakable aura.

It was a place that welcomed a melting pot of visitors. From the hippies to the jet setters, musicians and artists. A cultural hub of creatives and individuals alike.

World-famous Hippy Market

Juan Fernando Marí founded the market later in 1985, 31 years after his father initially put the place on the map in 1954.

It has since become a thriving part of the community, and Ibiza as a whole. With hundreds of thousands of people visiting each year, from all around the world.

The famous hotspot in San Carlos is also world-renowned for being the number one Hippy Market of its kind.

There’s something special about this place. You can feel the authentic history within its grounds, as all walks of life enjoy the surroundings and atmosphere.

As the years have progressed, Las Dalias has adapted to modern times. Without losing touch of its Ibicenco roots.

You can still very much enjoy the market, a popular choice for the Ibiza bucket list ‘check off’ crowd.

With numerous bars, restaurants, cafes and pop-up food stalls available. There’s something for anyone fancying a tipple or a bite to eat. From traditional paella to street food, they have it all.

A range of events have taken place here too in the modern day. Some more new-age, others in keeping with the islands cultural vibe. From hang-drum hedonism and live music to deep electronic sounds.

Dancing til Sunrise

In 2021 club Akasha opened. A diverse venue, offering an eclectic mix of events. Hosting some of the biggest Djs on the planet, including techno-god Sven Vath.

The venue also celebrates local artists, events and brands.

Including Earthreal and Las Dalias’s long standing resident event, Namaste, to name just two. Encompassing the true spirit of the islands love for music and togetherness as one.

You can visit the market every Saturday from 10am-8pm, or enjoy it at nighttime on Sundays, Mondays and Tuesdays from 7pm-00.30am
