Ibiza out of season – Why it’s worth the trip

Ibiza is famous for its excellent nightlife and beautiful weather.

But did you know that you can also experience this out of the typical summer season too?

That’s right, autumn and winter are equally as amazing. Just less busy!

Once the main clubs close, the island comes alive in a totally different way.

Whilst it’s not as hot as the peak months, you can often find yourself needing little more than shorts and a t-shirt during the daytime. Even in December!

The beaches are idyllic, only frequented by locals and the odd winter tourist. Giving you pretty much the whole stretch of sand to yourself.

It’s also a great time to explore.

The roads are less hectic, car rental is so much cheaper, and you’ll rarely struggle for a place to park.

It’s the time to get out and about, and experience the ‘real’ Ibiza in all its glory.

As for the party side of things, don’t be fooled into thinking there’s nothing to do.

Just because the super-clubs are closed, that doesn’t mean everything is. Far from it in fact.

Some of those said clubs also host special events throughout these months too. With Halloween and New Year being two of the best times for this.

Last New Years’ celebrations offered an array of fantastic events on, including the annual NYD DC10 (Circo Loco) party, and Elrow at Amnesia, which was absolutely packed!

FYI, Pacha has just been announced for NYE!

Ibiza Town, Marina BotafochSan Antonio, Santa Eulalia and other parts are not shy of a winter party either.

You won’t be paying through the nose for drinks and accommodation, something which is normally the case in the summer.

The travel situation can be a bit of a pain, due to the lack of direct flights (other than from City Airport in London). But that doesn’t stop people from heading over to experience a different lifestyle, compared to the months of May-September. It’s not impossible, so definitely worth booking that trip.

From exploring to eating, dancing and enjoying the more authentic vibe that this glorious island has to offer.

EAT, DRINK, DANCE AND BE MERRY

If you fancy staying somewhere a little busier, then San AntonioIbiza Town or Santa Eulalia is your best bet. With plenty of restaurants and bars open to keep you entertained. Royal Plaza is one of the more popular choices for hotels in Ibiza Town, along with The Standard. Although there are a number of others available to accommodate you.

For food then you’re in for a treat, as there’s many wonderful eateries catering to the Autumn/Winter crowd. From Japanese-fusion Nagai in San Juan, House of WOW in Santa Gertrudis, Las Dalias in San Carlos, Es Nautic in San Antonio and many, many more.

House of Wow

For shopping, then Ibiza Town has a range of high-street and local shops open. From Zara (Women, Man and Kids) , Mango, Bershka and others.

One of our favourite places to visit is Ruta Market in Vara de Rey. It’s full of quirky designs that you won’t find anywhere else.

For nightlife then Ibiza Town is most definitely where it’s at.

From the more well-known, haunts to those accidental, fun-finds. Including NUI, Paradise Lost, Lolas, Malanga, The Standard, plus others. If you fancy venturing further afield then Akasha club situated at Las Dalias won’t disappoint either.

It’s a time to visit if you don’t want to feel rushed. A time to immerse yourself in the local way of life.

It’s our favourite time, without a doubt.
